You may be able to ask current parents questions in some circumstances. If this is the case, prepare a list of questions for them as well, such as:
- What was your child’s experience like? Was it what you were expecting?
- Why did you decide on this school?
- What are your thoughts about the teachers?
Step 4: Go Over Your Shortlist
Ask the questions you set down in Step 3 during your visit and take notes on the answers. This will assist you in comparing schools and deciding which to apply to. Visiting a school gives you a true sense of community and atmosphere. Take note of how you feel on campus and how the faculty and staff treat you. Pay close attention to how your youngster is feeling. Also, be sure to take your child to the locations that pique his or her interest, such as the athletic facilities or the performing arts area.
Step 5: Add Your Favorites
This is usually self-explanatory, but don’t forget to apply for financial help and scholarships as well.
Although the process can be difficult, it is worthwhile to select the best boarding school for your child. Your child will have many possibilities and will gain independence at boarding school, preparing them to attend a great college.
