What You Need to Know About Laser Eye Surgery Cost in Kansas City

SBK Advanced LASIK

The most advanced form of laser vision correction surgery is SBK Advanced LASIK. It is used to address common vision problems such as farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism.

During the LASIK surgery, your doctor first uses a femtosecond laser to produce a micro-thin circular flap in your cornea (the thin, outer skin of the eye). The cornea is then reshaped using a computer-guided excimer laser to rectify the refractive defect.

While this is the most common type of laser eye surgery in Kansas City, not every patient we see is a candidate for it. That’s when we can start looking into other possibilities.

Exchange of Refractive Lens

Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) is a popular eye operation for persons suffering from presbyopia, a common age-related disorder that causes progressive loss of near vision before progressing to cataract. Your surgeon replaces your malfunctioning natural lens with a quality intraocular lens engineered to enhance focusing power at near, moderate, and long distances during an RLE treatment. RLE not only decreases or eliminates the need for glasses, bifocals, and/or readers, but it also inhibits the development of cataracts in the future.
