Workforce for Advanced Nursing Education

If you are studying nursing and want to work in a rural or underprivileged community, you may be eligible for the ANEW. Because the program provides financing for four years, you do not need to reapply for the award every year. Grants.gov is where you apply for the award.

Education Grants Are Being Reduced

Scholarship from the Jeannette Rankin Foundation

Female students aged 35 and up who want to return to school may be eligible for the Jeannette Rankin Foundation Scholarship. To be considered, you must be a US citizen, pursuing a degree (associates through bachelor’s) and meeting low-income standards.

Scholarship from the Emerge Foundation

Female students aged 25 and above who are Georgia residents may be eligible for the Emerge Foundation Scholarship. You must be pursuing a degree, whether a vocation, an associate’s, or a bachelor’s degree, and have demonstrated financial need by the abovementioned standards.

Scholarship for Advancing Agricultural Science Opportunities for Native Americans (AASONA)

Native Americans pursuing STEM degrees in the United States with an emphasis on agriculture may be eligible for the AASONA Scholarship. You may be eligible for $5,000 per student if you pursue a degree in science technology (or another science-related subject). You must be a full-time student at an accredited institution with a 3.0 GPA and be a member of a recognized tribe. The application process, as well as more information, can be found here.

Chemistry students pursuing a degree at one of ACS’s partner institutions may receive $10,000 each year of attendance for up to six years through the ACS-Hach Land Grant Undergraduate Scholarship. After graduation, you must intend to teach high school chemistry. In addition, you must be a full-time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Scholarship Fund for the Black Community

The Black Community Scholarship Fund assists African American students in Kansas City. High school seniors and adults who want to attend college and agree to conduct 16 hours of community service with a BCF partner are eligible for the $5,000 prize. Students must be full-time and have a GPA of at least 2.0.

Scholarships and grants are given to students to help them pay for education without worrying about payback. However, before choosing a loan, exhaust all of your financial assistance alternatives because educational loans may build up thousands of dollars in interest and make it difficult to pay them off in full, especially with all of the deferment and payment arrangement options available today.

Suppose you aren’t eligible for a grant or scholarship. In that case, federal student loans are a better option than private loans because they offer additional payment options and even the option to have your balance forgiven if you work in specific sectors.
